Story: As I was working around the shop creating fire art, I came up with the idea of the flaming hat. After several prototypes, I had fine-tuned the concept. Now I have several different hat designs and a variety wick shapes. These hats are portable, easy to use, reliable and able to withstand the harsh playa elements. Its great for lighting up the night and its good for the daytime too the shade of the hat will protect you from the sun. In a pinch, the flaming hat can be used as a centerpiece for your dinner table! Owning this hat will raise the fun level several notches.

Artist Bio: Struck with the thought that I needed some sort of fire toy for Burning Man 2001, I set to work designing and building my first two burning art pieces. I created recreational flamethrowers called Bonefires and a pedal-powered flamethrower called Tri-Psycho. Last year, I rolled out "Mothtrap," a platform-mounted, propane-powered percussive instrument that played inside the circle on burn night. To support this big art, I build and sell recreational flamethrowers and flaming hats and I lead workshops to teach others who are interested in making their own fire art.

Story: Worm asked me if I knew of a source for manufactured solid metal rings for a pendant he was thinking about. That got me to thinking, and a few prototypes laterÉ. My appreciation of rust started with Susie W.

Artist Bio: Geartooth was responsible for several twisted bicycles that made their debut appearances on the playa last year. He has a penchant (and ample talent) for modifying old bikes into other usable art.

Story: I love having a lot of fun costumes to wear on the Playa - day and night. This is very soft and tactile, and is a great way to flaunt a little fur on the Playa on a hot day. This outfit is made out of a really soft, red-tipped black fake fur and is a loin cloth with tie belt, drawstring pouch (you always need a pocket on the playa!), matching arm cuffs and fur necklace. Very pettable! You will be irresistible to the other Black Rock dwellers. Oooggg!

Artist Bio: I started working with glass in high school learning the popular art of stained glass. This love of glass evolved into the exploration of handmade beads using a torch to finally learning how to blow and fuse glass at San Jose State University. I attended the Corning Glass Conference and participated in the glass fashion show, which led my work in the direction of wearable art glass. After graduation, I became involved with the non-profit Bay Area Glass Institute located in downtown San Jose. I continue to experiment with glass and textiles making functional wearable art pieces
