Paully after fiberglassing the thin glass cloth.

The lighter grey areas are clay being used to fill in low spots and smooth out rough spots. He has an overly distinct spine.

Beginning to make the adjustable end of the ramp.

Adding a more stable base to the tree.

I found a stick from the hedge next door to make Paully's spear out of. I used a black rock to strip the bark.

The beginnings of the Orang's hanging hand. I made it out of tin to begin with and to get the pose right.
med | big | huge |
Clay is added over the tin to give the hand shape.
med | big | huge |
I eventually decided to remove the tin guide rather than build it into the hand.
med | big | huge |
I wanted a more expressive pose of the hand and to shape it so I could have him holding something in his fingers.

Hot days. This was late in the evening and still the temperature is in the high 90's. It hit 104 several days in my work area.
med | big | huge |
Paully's ankles started to bend as he stood in the sun for over a month of very hot weather. Here, I start reinforcing the legs and ankles.

I had always considered engraving marks in the fish to show scales, but had a brainstorm to add rather than subtract lines for scales. Here I'm marking the scale pattern.

On those 100+ degree days, I layed down a bead of elmer's glue (the tube I first used was filled with an elmer's product that dispensed glitter & glue) along the lines I drew.

The final pattern looks a bit like expanded metal. It feels really good when rubbed.

Doing the final coat of fiberglass resin on paully's back.

I think the orang's hanging hand is one of the best parts of this whole project.

Fiberglassing the 'water lilly' pad that will float with a heavy flower on it in the pond.

Paully becomes a mammal with the addition of nipples and a belly button. Notice all the sanded areas eroded to make him smoother.

Finally fixing up the dog's feet. All done except for fur and eyes.

Giving the penis a layer of the super thin glass cloth. med | big | huge |
